It was a below average opening weekend for Vikram Vedha as the collections remained well below the 50 crore mark, something which was the minimum expected from the film. Hrithik Roshan’s War took the opening 53.35 crore So it was expected that VV will do the same at least over the weekend. Of course every film is different and hence the expectations for the Gayatri-Pushkar directed action drama were set accordingly. However, what happened was really surprising as the weekend was far from even super 30 [50.76 crores],
It was only on Friday when the collections did not jump during the evening and night shows. It makes sense if the initial few shows were up to par, but when the reports start coming in and they are largely positive there is evidence of a turnaround before the day ends. Nothing like this happened for the Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer, and after that when Saturday didn’t extend much, the story hints at it too much. On Sunday, only a miracle could have helped the film but then it was just wishful thinking.
with 14.50 crore*The film coming out on Sunday is currently standing on JUST 37.59 crore, Now it is almost playable as the film is playing on a large number of screens and hence there is a need to be associated with that. Since there is no evidence of much increase, reducing ticket rates on weekdays would not really make sense as it would only be counterproductive to all stakeholders. There is only one hope that when Dussehra holiday is on Wednesday, the film will again be able to achieve double digit day.
