Back in 2019, Hina Khan made her stellar debut at Cannes after posing in front of the poster of her film Lines. Soon, a magazine editor took a jibe at Hina’s red carpet look and made lewd comments on the same. This did not go down well with the television fraternity who came out in support of the beauty including Nakuul Mehta. Scroll down to read the scoop.
Nakul wrote an open letter to the editor of the magazine and reprimanded him for making such lewd remarks.
Jitesh Pillai took to his Instagram and shared Hina KhanThe red carpet picture of the caption read, “Cannes suddenly became Chandivali studio what?” Now, this did not go down well with the television fraternity for obvious reasons, who slammed the editor for his lewd remarks on the actress.
Nakuul Mehta After Jitesh’s comment, everyone from Karanvir Bohra, Erica Fernandes, Arjun Bijlani to Nia Sharma came in support of Hina Khan.
Nakul in his open letter thanked the editor sarcastically and wrote, “The silver lining of that unsolicited comment you made is that for the first time so many of us collectively stood up and heard our voices. hit it home. You have drawn many of us into the conversation and come out in support of a colleague who has ignited new paths on her own merit. Thank you, if not for anything else but for awakening our collective conscience and standing up for the respect our work demands. “

Later, Jitesh Pillai took to his Twitter handle to apologize about his comment on Hina Khan and revealed that it was taken in a bad light but that was not what he meant.
Hina also gave a kick-a** reply to the editor and wrote in a tweet, “I was persistent, I am stable and I will be efficient again. I don’t know where I belong, I don’t know what to do, cause de place doesn’t define me! Because as always I’ll work my a** off and I’ll make my own. My promise, a proud outsider from my Chandiwali studio. “
