There has been a lot of debate on Pakistani content being boring, repetitive and in some cases inappropriate to be displayed on screen. The people working in the industry as well as the audience wanted to watch something new and the new channel Green Entertainment has been able to fill this gap with its initial launch. There are dramas like Idiot, Kabali Pulao and even College Gate which would not make it to mainstream television as we only get to see normal family feuds on big channels.

In an interview with Fuchsia, Greene Entertainment’s COO Imran Raza talked about the writers initially having problems understanding Greene’s vision. He shared that Green’s approach is that he wants the audience to be a family member. It shows Pakistani stories and wants to be a teacher, a function that television used to perform in the life of a family in the olden days.

He further talked about how initially the writers didn’t understand how Greene wanted to handle things as they were now set up to do things a certain way. But they found great people and now writers know they have a whole field to show their creativity.
